Founder, T1D Women

JDRF Gala.jpg
After being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, Reneé Rayles founded T1D Women to support women and girls living with T1D. She created the T1D Women Summit, later expanding it into virtual events with healthcare practitioners for a global audience. Her social media content highlights living transparently with type 1 diabetes.

Reneé is a passionate advocate for affordable insulin. She has spoken events hosted by President Obama and Senator Warnock in support of capping the price of insulin. She also traveled to Washington, D.C., with Breakthrough T1D to meet with congressional members from her home state of Georgia to advocate for continuing the Special Diabetes Program and lowering insulin costs.

At the American Diabetes Association’s State of Diabetes event in Georgia, she gave a live demonstration of removing and applying a continuous glucose monitor—showing how easy the process can be to help ease fears and encourage the use of life-saving medical devices.

In 2022, her platform reached more than 22 million views. Reneé has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, LinkedIn News, Endocrine Now, and the ADA.

T1D Women’s mission is simple: to offer support, information, and connection for those navigating Type 1 Diabetes.
